Neurological Research

The Neurosciences Center at Temple University Hospital participates in many wide-ranging research programs and protocols. Areas of research include:

Our stem cell research laboratories conduct research designed to discover and study methods of cell therapy for Parkinson's disease, multiple sclerosis, stroke and spinal cord injury.

Neurosurgical Research

The broad-based neurological surgery research programs at Temple include clinical trials and National Institutes of Health (NIH)-funded protocols in research areas including:

  • Traumatic brain injury (TBI)
  • Vascular surgery and molecular mechanisms of stroke
  • Spinal cord contusion/injury models and treatment
  • Novel characterization and treatment of central nervous system tumors

The Neurosciences Center also conducts research in the area of acute stroke (acute MR imaging) and thrombolytic and neuro-protective therapy.
